Star-Kist Tuna Pie. Oh, the horror.

Re: chef boyardee chicken alfredo
^ ^ ^ I almost can't believe I liked tuna as much as I did as a youth. I guess my culinary tastes evolved to raw ahi and once you go sushi grade, there's no going back.
I enjoyed tuna fish sandwiches on white bread. My dad would also make a tuna casserole when my mom was working nights. (I'm sure it wasn't a coincidence that she missed out on that). I vaguely remember it had some cheese and a homemade white sauce (similar to "S.O.S." 'cause he made that too) with crushed up Lay's plain style tater chips on top. And I liked it. A lot. However, I don't think it would give me the same pleasure today as it did back in tha day. I made tuna fish sandwiches recently and even with relish and everything and it just didn't do it for me. It was like eating cat food. I'll stick to chicken salad or egg salad.

Why would anyone buy Thanksgiving leftovers?
Re: chef boyardee chicken alfredo
There's a new line of frozen dinners called Devour that are good. They don't have the salisbury steak or meatloaf dinners, it's all new stuff. But it's also more expensive. When they go on sale I stock up.

Re: chef boyardee chicken alfredo
I scored a couple Devours where I previously lived. They didn't have the greatest selection but I got the enchiladas and remembered they were pretty decent. And yeah agreed, kinda pricey. There's this obnoxious little queen Timmy (we joke he's Bafellow's long lost brother because they both sing similarly and horribly) that I sometimes watch on YouTube. He samples entire menus or entire frozen food selections and shares his opinion along the way. He bought every Devour he could find and tried them all. They looked pretty good- especially the pastas. I live vicariously through him all the food he tries since I can't find ANY of it here.

Goulash! I’ve shoveled down many o’ plates of that in my time. I’ve even had it with ground venison which was damn fine and hearty. It’s a dish that’s cheap and easy to make, tasty, filling and relatively nutritious. I regard it fondly from my childhood memories as a food of great comfort.

Let me preface by saying I have no problem with Spagetti-os. If you’re hunkered down in a bunker or holding a trench, a can of Spagetti-os is a real treat. But why in the name of Chef Boyardee would anyone take the time to encase them in gelatin. And if that’s not heinous enough for you, we can garnish the top with some $0.99 cocktail weenies and a bit of leaf spinach. You know, to make it look pretty.

Re: chef boyardee chicken alfredo
Cocktail weenies my ass those are Vienna sausages. That thing is gross. Don't get me wrong, I make homemade skettios with tomato soup & ring macaroni often enough. But that thing frightens me.

Re: chef boyardee chicken alfredo
I would eat Spagettio's from the can, Vienna's from the can, and of course cocktail weenies in the pan - but all separately and not encased in gelatin.

Re: chef boyardee chicken alfredo
I recently ate a can of Spagettz with some leftover pulled pork thrown in. It was with some measure of shame and self loathing that I shoveled it down and thought of this very thread.
