Ahh, a full day. How much sweeter is the drink, as a reward at the end.
Don't worry. We're in no hurry.

I'll stay tunedBadfellow wrote: ↑Mon May 24, 2021 3:47 pmLogged about 400 miles driving on Saturday. Finally reached my destination, then made with thirsty haste to the clubhouse near my cabin. The special was prime rib sandwich with choice of fries, onion rings or baked potato. Ordered 4 Long Island Tea with dinner and, quite remarkably, the bill came to only $40 and some change (plus tip, of course). Tacked on a Jameson double for dessert and sat out on the patio for a smoke in the sun and the breeze off the lake watching drunk golfers make their drives for the 9th hole.
Worked most of Sunday installing garage doors on a 60 x 40’ pole building, which didn’t really seem like work given the endless supply of beer and ham sandwiches. Then did the "lather, rinse, repeat" at the clubhouse with however many Makers lemonades I ended up drinking.
For whatever reason, my stomach hasn’t been fucking with me lately and I seem fairly resilient to hangovers. Going to push my luck again tonight at the bar. Will give a full damage report tomorrow.

Wake Up Call
Just realized I've been on here for more than 18 years. The board was brand-new and I was so new to the internet I did not know you needed to register and pick a name and all that. Porrick and Franken and ? maybe Dave helped me out. Barca was the resident grumpy old man. I went to the first convention and had a great time, but the old man I'm married to refused to ever go to another. (Everyone send Grumpy a smack aside the head for me, please)
So many dear people have died. RIP my brother. Tony, I hope heaven is full of puppies. Liz, I was so looking forward to meeting you in person. Still have the Cinderella shoes in size extra tiny. Etc. I'm leaving now. Until I remember more dead people. I just can't...

Let's see, my day...
At midnight I get woken up, crisis, major exhaust leak on the main engine, we shut it down, three hours later me and two other guys had replaced an exhaust manifold on the number two cylinder, by 0400 we had restarted the engine and were back underway, by 0700 we were back at sea speed and the plant stable, start work at 0800...
At 0800 I was a 44 degrees 39.39 north, 151 degrees 12.9 East on course 065.5, at 23 Knots in 5 meter swells, made the morning round, did some routine stuff, ate lunch, 1300, built some stuff, ate dinner, 1730, changed out HFO purifier strainer, rebuild a main engine final HFO filter knock off at 1930.
Hit the rain locker, have a Whiskey while watching an episode of Water Front

my day was not as romantic sadly,
09:00 woke up for the first time
11:00 fell out of bed
12:00 after cleaning the cat litter first drink is consumed
13:00 watching sports number five already is underway
15:00 head to the balcony number ten and eleven are as smooth as baby oil
17:00 time to play darts #23 makes me see double. Doesn`t matter, lose dart game anyway
20:00 BBQ, drunk, time to go upstairs and eat but #26 and #27 first
midnight right now #34, cheers

A beautiful 27C / 81F day
Brought the kiddo to school
Went to supermarket for additional beer and ice
Went biking 95km/ 60 miles (yes a hobby)
Cold shower
Wife picked up the kiddo from school
Daddy preparing BBQ and having beers (Original Antartica <BR> and Corona) to ensure proper hydration
BBQ lots of meat
Watering the lawn to let the fertilizer kick in and having ample amounts of Jack to smooth the procedure.
And the end is not yet in sight

Was supposed to sail from Long Beach at 0400, so we left the dock promptly at 0530, and took departure at 0700, last trip we burned 2419.8 tons of heavy fuel oil, but then Sunday we took on 2500 tons of HFO.
