No malnutrition going on here. Just reading this thread has given me the munchies.

AD made some fried montechristos. No jam for me though. But a mayo mustard sauce inside that is delicious as hell

Re: "What are you eating - Thread"
Yes yes I did and let me tell you drunkards....Jesus H. Christ almighty do not make it yourself under any circumstances. I did the bread French toast style and then battered it and deep fried it. If you ever have the craving for a monte cristo, please go above and beyond looking for one in your greater city area instead. Making it at home - although it came out delicious - was borderline disastrous, time consuming, and a greasy mess.
Unlike oett's, I did mine the traditional way with powdered sugar and jam. Probably a few cat hairs in there somewhere too. From different cats.

Good idea! That actually would be ten times easier I would think. I made the sandwiches ahead of time and then battered them right before cooking, but they would have still been good without batter. More like a French toast sandwich instead.

Eggy bread with brown sauce? Or French toast with maple syrup?
To be clear, French toast is more than just bread dredged in egg. You have to consider the sugar, salt and vanilla involved. Some recipes also call for a measure of heavy cream. My personal cheat (when ingredients are limited) is to add a bit of that vanilla flavored crap people pour in their coffee. Wouldn’t dare sully a good cup of coffee with it, but it works great for eggy bread.
Oh, and perhaps you could clarify to us ignorant yanks: wtf is brown sauce?

trying to describe brown sauce is pretty difficult....imagine trying to describe mustard to someone who has never had it before.Badfellow wrote: ↑Tue Aug 24, 2021 1:39 pmEggy bread with brown sauce? Or French toast with maple syrup?

I've been told your A1 steak sauce is similar but it didn't taste anything alike to me....i'd say if you made Worcestershire into more of a table sauce then that would be it...maybe like a Worcestershire based bbq sauce..in Britain it's eaten almost exclusively with breakfast foods. It is also eaten with Bubble and Squeak which while not a breakfast food here is pretty similar to what you guys call hash.
We jazz up eggy bread as well with different additional ingredients... but it's always savory.

that's the one brother...HP is probably the most popular brand of brown sauce.

Re: "What are you eating - Thread"
Ah yes and when I couldn't find A1 sauce here in Doitchland, I got the HP brown sauce. I think it pretty much is the same as A1, but agree with bb69, doesn't taste quite the same. But yeah you murrican's, picture A1 as "brown sauce".
And I sure as shit don't want that on my eggy bread, but I'd give it a whirl to be sure. I do like HP sauce with onion rings though. HP also makes a pretty decent spicy BBQ sauce too, as most BBQ sauces sold here are too sweet. And they are 'murrican brands!
Eggy sandwiches of all varieties also sounds delicious. I must bring more eggy sandwiches into my life.

Totally made homemade crab Rangoon. They came out legit! I even watched a tutorial on YouTube on how to fold them the proper way and everything. oett had never heard of them before much less tried one. He was in heaven.
