I feel this needs, in case other are reading way after the fact, my story of love.
I was a drunk. Well into my late 30's lamenting yet another fucked up relationship with my buddies, all single, at my hunting camp. Nothing elaborate. Just a dry cabin, not in the bad way, and a nice party area downstairs.
We sit around the main table lamenting all our past failed relationships. Dissecting them. Figuring out what and where it went wrong. As the conversation continues and the booze flows I have a revelation. All the pieces fall into place. The chicks were all lying to us. Telling us just wehat we wanted to hear.
Camping? Love it! Bullshit, bitches when she dosen't take a shower after day 2.
Fishing? Love it! Bullshit, I have to touch worms?
The list went on. I realized that dry cabin. No running water, have to haul it. Then the outhouse. I had my acid test.
I told the guys that at the trhee month stage of any relaionship I was bringing the lady up. The first one that didn't bitch about staying 3 nights and 2 days there I was putting a ring on her finger.
I married the love of my life 6 years later, having met her and her passing the test 2 years before that.
