Found myself in the Matrix and took the red pill. Now I want the blue pill and my bottle and leave me alone.

I would nominate "Stir of Echoes" amongst the best on screen ghost stories ever told and a perfect example of the genre called "Blue Collar Horror".

I'm a sucker for a good ghost story and it doesn't get much better than this.

This is a bit too intense for a drunken soul at this time of early evening where I am. This is definitely something to pursue...have dealt with ghosts during past drier times. Would rather be toasted...TheBigCasino wrote:I would nominate "Stir of Echoes" amongst the best on screen ghost stories ever told and a perfect example of the genre called "Blue Collar Horror".

Re: Movies We'd Like to See Again
I like so many movies, but I do enjoy juxtaposing two disparate movies, back to back. This weekend, I'm thinking, The Haunting (original, not that botched abortion from the nineties) and Caddyshack. Of course, one has to choose the drinks menu beforehand. I'm thinking, Bourbon rocks for Caddyshack, and then slowing down with a lovely, chilled pitcher of Brutal Hammers for The Haunting. I wonder if I can get the Grumpster to make his famous Buffalo wings?

We were discussing vehicle recalls, at work. There apparently is a recent one of Jeep Cherokees becasue of them blowing up if rear-ended, much like the Pinto.
This made me think of Top Secret which, in turn, made me think of Real Genius. I haven't seen either in ages.

Re: Movies We'd Like to See Again
It is a little intense, yeah. there is a "thing" with drinking and intense films, and it's totally subjective, but - I find, the more intense the film, the harder it is to actually get drunk.Lush City wrote:This is a bit too intense for a drunken soul at this time of early evening where I am. The Big is in the Casino.
All I got left is some Grey Goose, some Jim, Baileys for my ladies (drinking age dotta and my woman), and left over Kahlua, but I think all the above adequate for a toast.
Cheers, Big.

Cheers to you as well! For me, toasts transcend all rules. For me, every first drink begins with a toast, even if I'm by myself.tdcwillies wrote:TheBigCasino wrote:hey, where's that guy who said "we shouldn't be talking about movies, we should be talking about drinking?" I'd like to watch THE PROFESSIONAL again.
Also, I was kind of depressed when somebody made a DOC thread and I posted a Doc Holliday scene from TOMBSTONE and got crickets.
