Re: gay marriage
Gay Marriage equality really is very fashionable to legalize at the moment.

Not in stone age bavaria though. They still didn`t get the memo that without job-security people don`t plan on having children as often.Mr. Viking wrote:Gay Marriage equality really is very fashionable to legalize at the moment.
Edit to clarify: They moan that gay couples can`t reproduce and keep the german nation alive thusly.

that's the same reason the church is against birth control and homosexuality, they just won't admit it.oettinger wrote:Edit to clarify: They moan that gay couples can`t reproduce and keep the german nation alive thusly.

I can't tell if that's directed at everyone or me, if it is at me, you know that video was a joke.Patchez wrote:It affects yhou in no way shape or form. STFU!

Strange thought running my drunken mind: In some porn Ron Jeremy is wearing a condom while they most often do the "right" stuff until the "movie" ends with a pull out. Are these "actors" roasted in hell also, or are they getting a B-minus for atleast trying?
Drink!
Re: gay marriage
Congrats to couples everywhere -- let the fabulous wedding receptions begin!
Its somewhere between hilarious and pathetic watching the naysayers natter on about their alleged problems with it, especially when 80% is deliberate crap they know is wrong/illogical/silly to please their right-wing base of kooks.
Anyone catch the Heritage Foundation's representative on this? She flew in on her broom to speak out about bible mandated concepts and cultural traditions and such; I beleive her flying monkey attendants held her hat for her as there was no forecast for rain.
Hilariously, similar "nuanced" biblical arguments were made to uphold slavery.
Ugh.
What's up with the Ozzies, though? It seems they have a strong faction who are content with civil unions (maybe fine? what's in a name?) and claim they don't want to simply co-opt the hetero idea of traditional Judaeo/Christian marriage (which is, historically, I believe, to either have mistresses/paramours, or behead your wife and start your own religious sect...?)
Anybody know if that view is a real thing or is it a smokescreen for something else?

Enjoy it. Destroy it.
Re: gay marriage
It was directed at no one individual. It was just my thoughts on the whole subject. A personal opinion. Yes I know the video was a joke. I get jokes.givemesomepils wrote:I can't tell if that's directed at everyone or me, if it is at me, you know that video was a joke.Patchez wrote:It affects yhou in no way shape or form. STFU!
My statement was mostly lashing out at religious homophobes who likely don't read this forum. I guess in the long run it was pointless.

Re: gay marriage
are we exchanging trevor moore videos?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOCdIY_HKM4
Also, literally every whitest kids you know (Moore's original comedy troupe) video is amazing. Civil War On Drugs is a laugh-fest if you get... um... inebriated... with *THAT* type of friend.
I've actually done a write-up, primarily as devils' advocate, that enunciates a *logical* rather than religious argument against gay marriage regarding the original functions of marriage, but honestly, gay marriage just isn't an issue I've ever found to be worth a major focus. It's a side-show to what really goes on. To me it was mostly a logical exercise meant to rectify conservative points, which I tend to align with, with my semi-agnostic religious views. In a nut-shell, it involves marriage being a traditional institution designed by aristocrats and enforced through religion (because historically, general populations were not well educated) to ensure a population reproduces, AND rears children in a historically proven male-female-parented household, to produce succesful people who end up paying taxes to the state, and contribute to the overall wellness of the state (which elevates everybody).

Re: gay marriage
Gay marriage? It should have been legalized a long time ago. The fundamental problem here is not whether two members of the same marriage can marry, but whether other people have a right to say how grown self- reliant person should live.

Don't forget the implicit tax, pension and inheritance benefits that come with a state-recognised "marriage".oldsmartskunk wrote:...whether other people have a right to say how grown self- reliant person should live.
Everything comes down to money, and how much the Government and major capitalist organisations can screw out of a person.
