In the words of Marvin Gaye: what's going on?
I'm a 23-year-old retired alcoholic, ex-professional as I like to think, and a university student from Scandinavia. Love the magazine and its existential devil-may-care attitude and have been a fan for quite some time!
I have been a high performer all my life, always getting As, always hitting the gym, always doing the right thing, but before I discovered boozing I wasn't content. I couldn't accept my dark side nor the grand, wondrous, terrifying nature of life. As soon as my lips touched the sweet nectar of alcohol, immediately as I felt booze kiss the depths of my soul, I was finally at ease with the world and myself. Sure this lifestyle may kill you and you may lose friends and girlfriends but at the end of the day, drinking has been one of the best things I've come across.
I enjoy drinking casually nowadays, mostly whiskey and red wine and putting some nice music on (The three Bs always do it for me: Bach, Beatles & Bon Iver). Right now I'm listening to 'Pet Sounds' and drinking a sidecar-cocktail, cheers!

Cheers and greetings to you DharmaBum.
The importance isn't necessarily in how much one drinks, but in the enjoyment of the drink itself. That some of us drink enough to make our eyeballs float is merely coincidental.

Welcome Earl and DharmaBum, I'm looking forward to reading more of your stuff.
Since nobody else has mentioned this, there is a tradition around here: New guy buys the next round. I'll have a Captain and Coke.

Welcome Dharmabum, Earl, and Cutbrandy! Looking forward to getting to know you fellow drunkards. I would love a couple o' dirty vodka martinis with olives. Stuffed with blue cheese if it is a nicer establishment. Cheers!

Hi everyone,
I'm sorry for the belated entry, but circumstances have rather dictated the situation. Anyway, I'm a student in the United Kingdom who is studying Politics at Swansea University (Wales). I've always been fascinated by booze (obviously being a student), however being a modern drunkard it is sometimes hard to find such sympathy among my peers. Anyway, that's who I am guys, happy drinking!
