Oett first off thank you for the Kasey Kasem long distance dedication, I love it. :Doettinger wrote:This is for Arful Detective: Go west
2ndly, you must have superhuman powers (or did I see you at Alternative Night at the Tiki Lounge?) because I just watched (and hearted <3) on the PSB's in the middle of the night last night while watching "Classic Music Videos"...whatever that is. Evidently Marky Mark & the Funky Bunch can be thrown in with ZZ Top and it's all "Classic".

Re: THE CHASIST Part II - Warning: Stroboscopic images - HA!
Anyone remember Dr. Devious? :D
Beings how this is a Not Booze Related forum dedicated to 90's techno, I find it the ultimate recommendation (although it is about 35 minutes or so but well, that's techno for ya). It's really not the highest recommend for a leisurely night o' drinkin' but better suited with other things that make you trip out or dance unless you just REALLY like techno (and or dancing, like me :D).
For those of you unfamiliar with Dr. D, here's the unabridged synopsis: The VHS tape came with Cyberspec (??) 3D glasses (which unfortunately I cannot provide for you or I would) and the cover had a "Health Warning: Stroboscopic images can induce epilepsy" so if it gets repetitive or you are feeling an epileptic episode coming on, just skip ahead a few seconds 'til everything changes because it is very comprehensive in the various 90's techno (but it's really not complete without the dizzying psychedelic visuals).
I haven't had a VCR since the last century so I was super stoked to see this finally appear on youtube so if you like techno, have ever dignified this forum with an opinion / contribution then try it...you might like it.
And now my Casey Kasem long distance dedication goes out to....
Oldsmartskunk for the creation of this glorious forum and Oettz for his shout out and constant golden contribution! *fanfare*
***Oett feel free to do your thing and fix the link as I don't have the magic as you do.***
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ag3vkQmzwS8
Rememba...you've been warned! Not only by me, but by the VHS box!
(My additional warning is that you WILL hallucinate in your dreams afterwards)

Re: THE CHASIST Part II
Funny enough, I still own a VHS recorder that works perfectly (no name prodcut of course!) and has no region code in it. That was very important for us non US citizens back then watching tapes only available in the US.
The guy in the beginning of the video looks eerily similar to Willies on skype.
I usually listen to heavy metal but sometimes well done techno fits the bill just as well

Re: THE CHASIST Part II
Do you actually still watch the VCR and if so, what? My BF has a VCR but the problem is I don't have any VHS tapes anymore. He must have some VHS pornos stashed somewhere. The region code sucked and was an issue for me because I liked a lot of films that wouldn't play here either.oettinger wrote:Funny enough, I still own a VHS recorder that works perfectly (no name prodcut of course!) and has no region code in it. I love heavy metal. I will hafta switch to Whatcha Listening to or Drunkardtainment to discuss that so I don't go off topic. I do appreciate all types of music...just depends on the mood. I gotta watch the metal when drinking though...gets me fired up. An evening can have very different outcomes just with music as the variable alone. Smooth Jazz or Heavy Metal? Hmm...'nuff said.

Basketball tapes, too much money spend on em. Didn`t know utube was coming... meh
Guns n roses - making the fucking videos trilogy (never released on dvd) ... but on youtube. Atleast it`s a collecters item
Braindead, in german! Still forbidden to this day in this hypocrite country! (funny note, on that tape is also the movie "Badtaste": on classtrip we used sliver magic marker to overwrite "badtaste/braindead", then wrote with black marker over it "dirty dancing". Handed that tape to the teacher who put it in the Bus`VHS awaiting some gay dancing but instead it starts with a sledge hammer in some brain... After a minute of high anticipation turning into great disgust said teacher threw the tape across the bus to the last row screaming: "Mr. Oettinger is that your shit?!?!")
The tape is still working as we talk! Dear he broke it....
Some movies I`m too cheap to buy again on DVD
No porn sadly
The "Naked Gun" collectors box
Lots and lots of action movies, Robocop, Total Recall etc
Another note, if stored correctly these tapes last waaaaaay longer than any laser disc and I don`t even store them correctly

Your teacher would rather let the class watch Dirty Dancing?? I think HE was the one who wanted to watch Swayze DD'ing. Ain't nuthin' wrong with that!
Porno TAPES would just be plain cheesy. Especially in this day and age of internet. I really hope my BF has some dignity and doesn't have tapes. Not sure why the VCR still... I have a million DVD's but even those are becoming obsolete for me because I tend to DVR stuff these days.
Love Naked Gun. I love Zucker Bros. humor it just never gets old. No matter how old I get. Keep those glorious VHS tapes.
Robocop- Even though he's 100 years older than me, always thought Murphy (P-Dubz) was hot in that movie. "Buddy, I think you're slime." Worst line ever -especially in his precarious situation - but still sorta love the movie.
I think VHS tapes my bro and I watched over and over were "Predator" and "Aliens II". Still love those movies, they are timeless.

Never Ever - All Brains
A few vodkas that I need to throw
How you could ever burn me so
I need to know what I've drank wrong
And how long it's been going on
Was it that I never drank enough to mention
Or did I not shot enough coffein then
Not only will your mixers keep me sane
But I'll know never to make the same mix again
You can pour into my drink
Or even on the skype
You can hide it way better
Either drink I've have to pour
Did I never meet you right
Did I always start the flight
Ether way I'm running out of brine
Bold concessions to my drinks I have to find
A few vodkas that I need to throw
How you could ever burn me so

I can't take my eyes off of it. I can't tell if it's in a "watching a train wreck" sort of way or do I find it mildly titillating?oldsmartskunk wrote:

Popcorn is indeed indicated, in this frivolity
There are things that we find scintillating and shexxy:
The shape of a woman, and the brains of intelligent Ladies.
Now back to objectifying these two bastidges.
Cheers!
