I need to find a great and famous quote that I've seem to have forgotten who said.
It was saying something like alcohol is the greatest connoisseur of all times, help ending friendships that need to end, strengthen existing and create new one. There was also something about building bridges between people, smoothen over differences and resolve disagreements. Probably something about war as well.
If I'm not mistaking I stumbled across this when I was googling for scotch and i THINK it was said/written by someone related to the youth of Scottish whisky distilling some hundred years ago.
Damn it I can't recall what it was, maybe any of you have a clue based on this vague description?
What quote am I looking for???

Re: What quote am I looking for???
A famous quote on booze and war? Perhaps Churchill? (Well, not a distiller, at least not as we know it)
Re: What quote am I looking for???
It was not specifically about war but rather referring to the negotiations that can stop war.
Still googling, no luck. Damn this is annoying.
